We'd like to take you behind the scenes, and share how we created this collection, during lockdown!

Jessica Pearce, Creative Director, and designer at Scream Pretty worked closely with Hannah Martin via many WhatsApp video calls to curate and design Hannah's vision. We finally got to meet for the first time, outside in mid October, a few weeks before launch.

"I love jewellery, you could say I’m obsessed . My first taste of designing was my wedding rings and I always dreamt of creating my own collection one day. Scream Pretty made my dreams come true! My first piece of jewellery were pearls from my Mum’s best friend Flee. This collection is rooted in my love for them, especially my Mum whose sign off on cards was always ‘XX OO XX’ – my sister and I had her ’kiss’ tattooed on our wrists in remembrance. Creating a jewellery motif with it felt like a wonderful way to gift and ‘send love’ in this strange time where we can’t be together as much as we want to." Hannah Martin

With a tight turnaround to get samples made, then the production - all during a pandemic has thrown technical, logistical and IT challenges our way. The positivity, energy and excitement about this project kept us all moving forward, and we are delighted to share Hannah's collection, via 2 drops in November.

The Hugs and Kisses Motif

"The Hero piece of the collection. The story behind this piece is very personal. My sister and I were looking for a way to permanently celebrate our Mum who died from cancer in 2011. We searched through her letters for inspiration – she always signed off her cards ‘xx oo xx’ (Hugs and kisses). Her ‘kiss’ is now tattooed on the inside of both our wrists. To me it perfectly symbolises her vast capacity to love anyone and everyone with a hug and a kiss. " Hannah Martin

Love Always Bracelet & Necklace

"With this pendant and bracelet the hug is represented by the circle of pave inset around the edge. The pave ‘kiss’ is an exact transcription from her card. The inscription ‘Love Always’ in my handwriting on the reverse makes this a perfect gift for a sister, wife, best friend, girlfriend or family member."
